Your Goals don’t have to be set on January 1st

Lets take a moment to think about this……………

Maybe you could write your future self a little note about your goals for 2022, place it in an envelope and open it again this time next year!

Yes, I’ve already set a few goals for my year ahead, hopefully they will last more than few weeks at least : )

If you do fall off track with your goals don’t get discouraged, just brush yourself down and start again. The best thing to do is to start with small achievable goals or just 1 goal.

  • Maybe Brain Dump all the things you would like to achieve in 2022
  • Maybe arrange your goals – what needs to be done and when
  • Be realistic. Can your goals be achieved in 1 year?
  • Maybe you could try 1 goal per month instead of saying ” I want to loose X amount of weight in 3 months. You could possibly say “this week I’m going to cut out crisps, biscuits or cake”. Or you could say “I am going to replace X food with a piece of fruit”. But don’t forget its not all about weight loss its about lots of other things in life!
  • Of course, having a list of monthly goals is a bit pointless if you don’t turn those goals into actions.

If you feel you don’t have time to set goals ask yourself – is your time filled up with ‘other’ activities, why are they there? Are they important activities which must take precedence over your goals.

Goal setting is a deeply personal and every individual takes a different approach. Next time you are feeling stuck, pause to reflect on the goal you are chasing and don’t be afraid to hit the “refresh” button when needed.

Last night I put down my phone and stopped scrolling and I achieved 1 of my goals, I felt a sigh of relief that I had actually used my time productively. Why don’t you try it?
