Between 9am-10:30am Sunday 16th August we’ve got a special Yoga Flow & Meditation class in support of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity!
The class will be online, on Zoom. To sign up, make a donation of £5 on www.justgiving.com/fundraising/kenwjones and you’ll receive the Zoom link in your confirmation email.
All money raised will go to the Charity, to help ensure soldiers, veterans and their families have the opportunity to avoid hardship and enjoy independence and dignity.
Like Corporal Andy Reid, who sustained massive injuries after stepping on an explosive device while on patrol in Afghanistan in 2009. He lost his lower right leg, lower left leg and his right arm. After being treated for his conditions, the Charity paid for a wheelchair ramp, alterations to the front entrance and a bed downstairs of his house.
Or infantryman Stewart Harris, who served with The Welsh Guards. In 2012, Stewart’s vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb leaving him partially sighted and partially deaf. Stewart was later diagnosed with PTSD and in 2014 his house was burgled, and the combination made him too afraid to leave his house. The Charity provided a grant towards a CCTV system at his family home, an expense Stewart couldn’t afford on his Army pension alone. As Stewart said,
“To ask for help and then to be told ‘yes that’s going to be fine’ is absolutely amazing…The weight of the world was taken off my shoulders”. Stewart Harris

Sign up now, and help Ken’s ABF fundraising
My brother, Ken, is fundraising for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity and the money raised will go towards Ken’s fundraising efforts. So far he’s raised over £500 and is aiming for £1,000!
Sign up now by making a donation of £5 on Ken’s JustGiving fundraising page at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/kenwjones
You’ll receive a Zoom link to the class on your confirmation email, which you can use just before the class on 9am on Sunday 16th August.
On the day, you can choose to have your microphone and camera turned on and off. I would love to see and hear you but it’s completely up to you – whatever makes you most comfortable.
Ken’s chosen three challenges to represent the three branches of the UK Armed Forces: a 5km run for The British Army (land challenge), a 10,000ft skydive for Royal Air Force (air challenge) and a 1km swim for the Royal Navy (water challenge).
Ken has completed the run and skydive, and will be completing his swim next. Read more about Ken’s fundraising at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/kenwjones
From Ken and I … thank you and hope to see you soon!
