Week #8 & 9

Keeping Motivated.

Week 14 of Lockdown and things are gradually getting back to some kind of normality.

Try to be clear about what you are working towards, be it a goal of fitness or weight loss or just to maintain.

It is a vital step between planning and doing. No point planning if you are not going to see it through. A goal without a plan, we know is just a dream.

Keep positive. Positive thoughts lead to positive actions. Taking control of how you think, how you feel and how you act. Positivity will help you make choices that lead to you carrying your goal forward and reaching it.

Keeping your goal manageable. Little and often or you will soon get fed up or burn out and go back to how you were, then it’s a vicious circle of ‘monkey mind’ taking over, many hours saying to yourself “I should have…….” or “why didn’t I…..”

Please, don’t make excuses, don’t get distracted. Yes, life get in the way. Maybe wake up in the morning and, if fitness is your aim or weight loss, or whatever…. get your class clothes ready, pay for that class (in the morning) or decide which Free class you will attend (but opting for a free class, you will most probably find an excuse of why not to do that class!)

Yes, this is strange times but things are slowly getting back to normal. Gyms will open, are you now saying “oh I miss the gym/classes’ but as Christmas time approaches in stroll the same excuses as now.

Now is the time to change your mind set.

Keep things fun. Fun is not the enemy but a great Motivator.

Believe you can accomplish your goal, it’s out there for the taking and why shouldn’t you?

Reward yourself – obviously with not cake 🙂 well a little slice ..

Visualize yourself. Visualization is a powerful technique that can help us stay motivated.

Remember, Motivation starts within. Find it, keep it and make it work for you.
